Archeology! Learn about the Northern Chaco Outliers Project, with Dr. Susan Ryan of Crow Canyon Archaeological Center.
The Northern Chaco Outliers Project, initiated in 2016, focuses on the Haynie site, a multi-component ancestral village with two Pueblo II period great houses, located in southwest Colorado. The project and the materials collected contribute to advancing and sharing knowledge of the human past, and to cross-cultural discussions of human behavior around the world in the past, present, and future.
Susan C. Ryan, (Ph.D. University of AZ), has worked at the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center since 1998. As Executive VP of the Research Institute, Susan aligns the Center’s mission with ongoing research initiatives pertaining to human behaviors in the past and present and human-environmental studies. Her research interests include public archaeology, community formation and dissolution, the built environment, and the relevance of archaeological research to today’s societies.
